Company Name: Bish Bosh Becca
What inspired you to start your business?
I started over 6 years ago. My Mother had a lot of her jewellery stolen and I knew I could not replace it. I saw in a craft magazine a cheap crochet bracelet with plastic beads aimed at children. I thought I could make it in gold plated wire with the stone used in her favourite bracelet that was stolen. She loved it.
Then my husband made the mistake of going overseas for 6 months and he came home to a house full of beads. So Bish Bosh Becca was born!

What do you enjoy most about your job?
There are so many things I love about my job. Perhaps the biggest is I just don’t see it as a job.
It sounds a bit daft but all the wonderful people I meet in this industry either other professionals or customers.
I also love creating. I might see colours put together and think that would make a superb necklace, so I have a play and create it. I used to worry that would not be inspired to create new designs but something always came to me or caught my eye, but not always at the most convenient time! I have learnt to go with the flow and not to worry about it. More often then not I can’t make the new designs quick enough as several come to me at once

What has been the best moment of your business?
Making the decision to do Bish Bosh Becca full time and give up the day job.

What are your business plans for the future?
I would like to see it grow but still maintain the level of service that I provide now. I have just created a very affordable range of jewellery that I hope will help brides afford lovely wedding jewellery for all their bridesmaids as well as themselves. Prices start as £16 for a sterling silver and swarovski pearl and crystal necklace which I am quite proud of.
I need to be more PR aware or at least find someone who is!

Can you give us a ‘Typical day in the life of Bish Bosh Becca’?
I don’t really have a typical day and that’s what I love, the variety. However most times there is just not enough time in the day.
The priority is dispatching orders and that always comes first.
I am juggling creating new designs, making them, getting them to the photographer and then uploading them on the site and promoting them.
Raising awareness of Bish Bosh Becca through social media but I have to be careful as I can waste hours on pinterest. I need to get to grips with creating fashion plates to put on there which give people ideas of what goes with what.
Then there is the dreaded meta data for the site.
I am very lucky I have a fantastic photographer and web designer
