Having resorted me to a blubbering mess with their first single Wherever You Are, I wasn’t surprised to find myself well and truly sobbing again at their new single In My Dreams – they really know how to get me!
X Factor Finalist, JonJo Kerr joins the Military Wives Choir on their second single (written by Paul Mealor) which is a beautiful romantic duet about a man who is parted from his lover overseas. Take a look at the video for this below (but make sure you have the tissues handy!)….
The best news though is that we didn’t have to wait too long for their next masterpiece as the Military Wives Choir album (also titled In My Dreams) was released yesterday!
This includes covers of Make You Feel My Love, With or Without You, Up Where We Belong (Love Lifts Us) and many more!
With Mothers Day coming up on Sunday this will make the perfect gift – and if you’re reading this Mum, don’t be rushing off to buy it (wink wink)
Anyone who follows me on Twitter (@MilitaryWedding) will know that I am a HUGE fan of these ladies!! I make no secret of it, and judging by the retweets and other messages of support I see, lots more of you feel the same!
Being a fellow Military Wife myself, I can honestly say I have never felt so connected to a song as I do this and I’m still to get to the end of it without shedding a tear! It’s not sadness though – it’s just a completely overwhelming feeling of pride for my lovely husband.
Being a Military Wife can also be very lonely and you find it so easy to forget that there are lots of others going through the same thing and feeling the same things you are. Hearing Wherever You Are for the first time on Gareth Malone’s The Choir – Military Wives just made my hairs stand on end! I just wanted to jump up and down and scream “YES!!! THAT’S IT!! THAT’S HOW I FEEL!!!!!” Paul Mealor got it spot on!
This song is doing more than raising a blooming amazing amount of money for charity – it’s also making people, like me, realise that you don’t have to go through it alone and that there are other people out there who know exactly how you feel that can support you and that too is another brilliant quality this group of women have! They’re a huge inspiration.I ♥ them!
It’s only 3 days now (Boxing Day) until my husband goes on tour to Afghanistan for six months and usually I am a wreck by now but this time I have found such comfort in this song and the ladies themselves which has given me this new found strength for which I really just can’t thank you all enough!
This song has already proved to be the best selling single of 2011 and with the proceeds going to SAAFA and The Royal British Legion there really is no more deserving single to reach Christmas No 1 so PLEASE peeps help them reach the top spot by downloading/purchasing this song today!
Good luck ladies – got everything crossed for you!
