Love Actually
♥ Favourite part of the festive season (eg: dinner/spending time with family/shopping/etc):
Spending time with my family on Christmas day.
♥ Favourite Christmas memory:
The look on our children’s faces when they were little when they came downstairs on Christmas morning to discover that Santa had eaten his mince pie and drank the apple juice (we were not allowed to leave wine for Santa according to my daughter because Santa was driving!)and that the reindeers had eaten all the carrots that they had left for them the night before.
♥ First thing you do Christmas morning:
Get woken up by my children asking if Santa has been (even though they’re 13 and 16 now!!)
♥ How will you be spending Christmas this year?:
With my wonderful family at my parents’ home in London.

♥Favourite part of the festive season (eg: dinner/spending time with family/shopping/etc):
♥Nicole- I would say my favourite part of Christmas is decorating the tree and telling cracker jokes, I’m rather silly like that! ♥ Helena – my favourite part of Christmas is Christmas songs on the radio and going to choose my Christmas tree with the kids, I love their excitement x
♥Favourite Christmas memory:
♥Nicole- my favourite Christmas memory is one that makes me laugh the most! I was so hung over I spent all day being sick and couldn’t even eat my Christmas dinner. My mum thought I was just ill and it wasn’t till years later she found out the truth and was so cross. ♥Helena – Its finding my husband passed out on my best friends living room floor with the Christmas tree pulled over on top of him and baubles and tinsel stroon across the floor! I wish I had a camera because it still makes me laugh to this day .
♥ First thing you do Christmas morning:
♥ Nicole- check for snow, even though I know it’s unlikely there is a small part of me that always hopes it will be a white one x ♥Helena – get jumped on by two very excited little boys with stockings in hand, my Christmas wish of a long lie in is soon out of the window!
♥How will you be spending Christmas this year?:
♥ Nicole- I will be splitting my day in to two this year. I will spend half with my family and half with partners. This is really a secret ploy to have two Christmas dinners x ♥ Helena- I am so excited to be spending my first ever Christmas away this year in Lapland ! I can’t wait to have a guaranteed White Christmas.
♥ Name 3 items from your Christmas List this year:
♥ Favourite Christmas Song: Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses – it’s not really Christmas until I’ve heard this on the radio.
♥Favourite Christmas Film: Trading Places
♥ Favourite part of the festive season (eg: dinner/spending time with family/shopping/etc):
When I was young it was Christmas morning with my immediate family before everyone else arrived – Now I am older it is Christmas morning with my own family before everyone else arrives!
♥ Favourite Christmas memory:
The year that my Dad had to shout up the stairs for me and my brother to get out of bed on Christmas morning after a late Christmas Eve. “After years of you waking me up – it’s my turn!”
Bless him – he had opened a bottle of Champagne and got the bacon sandwiches ready! He is a top man.
♥ First thing you do Christmas morning:
We open presents while enjoying coffee and toast and Christmas music. My daughters are 5 and 3 so the excitement of Christmas is really taking off.
♥ How will you be spending Christmas this year?:
Christmas Day will be at home with the family, followed by Boxing Day with my wife’s family and then off up to Lancashire for a few days to visit my folks and then to Yorkshire for New Year with friends.

♥ A great time with my daughters
♥ A chance to catch up with my Mum & Dad who have been in South Africa for a couple of months
♥Favourite Christmas Song: ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ Shakin Stevens (OMG that was 1985!!)
♥Favourite Christmas Film: Really tricky…. Torn between ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ & ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’, very closely followed by ‘The Polar Express’ & ‘Santa Claus The Movie’. Don’t make me choose!
♥ Favourite part of the festive season (eg: dinner/spending time with family/shopping/etc): Love the build-up & planning. My daughter’s birthday is 12 days before Christmas, so the last 5 Christmases have been extra special for us. We try & make a big deal of her birthday so it doesn’t get swallowed up in all the festivities. I love everything about December, from advent calendars to NYE.
♥ Favourite Christmas memory: All the family putting up the Christmas decorations at Mum & Dads. A real tradition every year & it was a jam-packed day with an afternoon of baking, from mince pies to marzipan bumble bees. Traditions I’ve carried on with my family! We’d always leave a Brandy & Mince Pie for Santa & had a MASSIVE go at my Dad when we crept back downstairs to find him drinking the brandy! Mum made him replace it.
♥ First thing you do Christmas morning: Woken up by the kids with huge beaming smiles once they find the trail of glitter & snowflakes from the 2 sacks of presents outside their rooms, down the stairs & to the fireplace. The 4 of us have cuddles & a mug of tea in bed while the kids open ½ their prezzies.
♥ How will you be spending Christmas this year?: As every year – with my family on Christmas Day & then hubby’s family on Boxing Day. It will be slightly different this year as hubby is working a night-shift on Christmas Eve, so I have visions of him asleep at my Mum’s Dinner table mid-afternoon!!

♥Favourite Christmas Film: LOVE all Christmas films but ELF has to be my favourite! Followed very closely by Bill Murray’s Scrooged…(Im no good at the choosing one…)
♥Favourite part of the festive season (eg: dinner/spending time with family/shopping/etc): LOVE everything about Christmas, Im last minute every year…. I will never learn!! But once the wrapping and organising is over I love getting into my new pyjamas on Christmas eve with a LARGE glass of something pink and watch Christmas TV…and look forward to the marathon of Christmas gifts opening over the next few days with friends and family!!
♥Favourite Christmas memory: This may sound bizarre…!! But it became a little bit of a tradition at Christmas time for ME to throw the big tin of sweets up in the air (so roses or quality streets) and all the littler ones (I say that lightly…as the older ones joined in to) use to catch and eat them all… I don’t even know who started it..it was quite random, but a very good memory all the same!
♥First thing you do Christmas morning: Well with a 2 year old at home…it will be an early one!! But I cant wait to see her little face with all her new toys (she gets so excited – so its camera at the ready)
♥How will you be spending Christmas this year?: same as every year – with all our family, eating and drinking probably way too much as usual…but that’s what its all about!!
♥Favourite Christmas Song: All I want for Christmas – Mariah Carey. Its so catchy and puts you in the mood and you can’t fail to sing along with it. This video from HMS Ocean that uses the song is classic…
♥Favourite Christmas Film: My fave Christmas movie is Love Actually. It’s about love, it’s fun, it has Hugh Grant…what’s not to love ! It also has a bit of special meaning as the PM’S Theme from the Movie was our Recessional song when we got married…
♥ Favourite part of the festive season (eg: dinner/spending time with family/shopping/etc): It’s the relaxing that’s the best part of all. The year can be manic and the opportunity to sit down and just…BE is fabulous! That said the kids will never let me do it but the chance to try is important !
♥Favourite Christmas memory: Have 2 memories – 1st was Christmas 2003 when we got engaged officially, and the second was Christmas 2005 which was just 6 weeks after our daughter was born, that special day with a New born was magical.
♥First thing you do Christmas morning – Its usually being attacked by the kids and dragged downstairs. First job is making cup of tea, and then it’s to the important bit – opening the presents, this can take a while!
♥ How will you be spending Christmas this year ?: Relaxing with the kids and family, and eating too much probably.
♥Favourite Christmas Song: Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – Frank Sinatra, can’t beat a bit of Frank.

♥Favourite part of the festive season (eg: dinner/spending time with family/shopping/etc):
All five of us (my husband, 3 boys and me) curled up on the sofa to watch Christmas films with the fire going and candles lit. Seeing friends for drinks in crowded pubs- I love the Christmas buzz.
♥Favourite Christmas memory: Always the look on my children’s faces when opening their favourite must-have present.
♥First thing you do Christmas morning: My boys climb onto our bed to open their stockings as soon as they wake up- it’s usually ridiculously early. We go downstairs to see what’s under the tree and then the champagne comes out for breakfast!
♥How will you be spending Christmas this year?: At home with my Mum and Dad visiting.
♥Favourite Christmas Song: Definitely showing my age with this one. I’m a sucker for the original Band Aid “Do they know it’s Christmas?”
♥Favourite Christmas Film: Love Actually
♥Favourite part of the festive season (eg: dinner/spending time with family/shopping/etc): I love the look of it all: the fairy lights, the pretty piles of presents, the decorated tree. Everyday spaces turn into somewhere beautiful and inviting.
♥ Favourite Christmas memory: When my children were small, setting out a mince pie and whisky for Father Christmas and a carrot for his reindeer, then settling them into bed. I loved to share their excitement and their absolute certainty of something magical happening that night.
♥First thing you do Christmas morning: Stockings with the children. They settle on the end of our bed with their stockings and take turns to dive in.
♥How will you be spending Christmas this year?: With family. My parents are moving next year from the place where I grew up so we’re all gathering for what will be the last Christmas there. My siblings are scattered around the country so Christmas is a great time to get together.
